The Community Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by St. James Lutheran Church will be Saturday, April 19th at 10:00 am in the Community Center Dining Hall. Due to requests we will be dying Easter eggs.
Prayer Group (Flint & Tinder) Open to all denominations - St. James Parsonage - Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.
Bible Study (Not Your Mama's Bible Study) - St. James Parsonage - every Thursday 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Second Harvest Food Distribution - St. James Community Center - 4th Thursday each month 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. (Except for November and December, at which times will be announced.)
All are invited to Coffee @ Cotton’s every 1st Friday at 8:30 a.m. for a breakfast and/or coffee neighborhood get together at Cotton’s Country Store. Join your neighbors for fellowship and a delicious breakfast or 2nd cup of coffee.
Young at Heart - meets at 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for a covered dish lunch and program or activity in the St. James Community Center Dining Hall, unless otherwise stated.
Women of the ELCA (WELCA) - meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m.
Jacob's Well serves lunch on the First Thursday of each month from 10:30-12:00 and they also serve on the Third Saturday of each month from 10:30-12:00. Jacob’s Well will also give out additional bags of food to families with children in their household.
Appalachian Helping Hands - Free Clothing Closet every Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Our World Hunger and Lutheran Disaster continues to have coffee, tea, and other items are available in our church narthex for donation only purchase. Our dining room has been designated as a disaster place for people to come for comfort and sleeping. Plans are in the first stages to designate the dining room a “warming area “ for all people needing a place to stay during disaster times, whether it be flooding, electricity/ heating problems in their homes. Little Free Library Book Exchange -Leave a Book, Take a Book or Just Take a Book!
The St. James Lutheran Church Congregation and St. James Volunteer Fire Department will host the popular Halloween Carnival at the St. James Community Center Saturday, October 25th at 4:00 pm. Activities include an Inflatable Play Center, Haunted House, Kid’s Auction, Games with free prizes, Trunk-or Treat, Hot Dogs/Chips/Drinks& Cookies.
